According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was recorded at 4:35 a.m. local time off the coast of the state.
The epicenter was located approximately 217 kilometers west of Bandon, with an estimated depth of about 10 kilometers.

So far, authorities have not reported any deaths, injuries, or property damage caused by the earthquake.
The USGS also ruled out any tsunami risk, helping reduce concern among coastal communities.
