In a social media post, the Material Girl singer responded with sharp irony:

«We currently have a president who calls himself ‘Our King.’ If this is a joke, I’m not laughing.»

Madonna questioned the contradiction between Trump’s message and the founding principles of the United States.

Her criticism came after the White House posted a message on X reading:

«CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan and all of New York are SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING! – President Donald J. Trump.»

The post was accompanied by an image of Trump wearing a crown against the backdrop of the New York City skyline, with the phrase «Long live the king» emblazoned across it.

This isn’t the first time Madonna has expressed her dissatisfaction with the Republican president’s policies.

The singer has been an outspoken critic, particularly regarding decisions that affect the LGBTQ+ community.

In January, she condemned actions she claimed were dismantling hard-won freedoms for LGBTQ+ individuals.

«It’s very sad to watch our new government slowly dismantling all the freedoms we’ve fought for and WON over the years,» she wrote on X.

The post featured a Pride flag emoji, a broken heart emoji, and the phrase: «Don’t give up the fight!»

Madonna has remained one of the most consistent celebrity critics of Trump since he took office on January 20.

Her ongoing defense of LGBTQ+ rights and vocal opposition to Trump’s policies have made her a prominent figure in the cultural resistance against his administration.
