One of the affected volunteers described how the confrontation unfolded.

“We didn’t even approach them until they were already on public property,” he said.

“They started walking. We stayed about two meters away the entire time.”

The volunteer explained that they kept their cameras recording throughout the interaction.

Volunteers say they did not invade the men’s space

The affected volunteer stated that the alleged agents demanded they move back.

“When they turned around, they told us, ‘Back up, now,’” he recalled.

“And we didn’t back up because it wasn’t necessary.”

According to his version, they never physically approached the men.

“We stayed where we were and did not move toward them,” he said.

The volunteer claimed that the men themselves advanced toward the group.

“They came toward us, put their hands in our faces, and sprayed the pepper spray,” he added.

The affected volunteers sought help immediately after the pepper spray incident with ICE.

Cooper and Willow approached officers from the San Antonio Police Department who were present in the area.

Suspects were not officially identified

According to witnesses, police officers told them there was little they could do.

The reason, according to the volunteers, was that the individuals involved were allegedly federal agents.

So far, there has been no official confirmation regarding the identities of the two men.

The individuals did not publicly identify themselves during the altercation.

However, witnesses stated that both men returned to the ICE offices after the incident.

The event occurred while several people remained outside the immigration facilities.

The situation generated tension among volunteers and others who were present at the scene throughout the morning.
