A 21-year-old student and national gymnastics champion was killed in a shooting that took place in an apartment near the campus.
Kara Welsh, who was studying business administration at the School of Business and Economics, lost her life on Friday night, KARE11 reported.
This incident, which remains under investigation, occurred near the Minnesota border, according to Whitewater police.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man whose name has not been released, was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Walworth County Jail.
