Costa Rican influencer Gabriela de los Ángeles Sanarrusia Chavarría, 28, was killed alongside her partner during an armed attack inside their home in the early hours of July 4.
Authorities said the content creator was asleep with her boyfriend, Jorge Isaac Agüero, 30, when several armed men entered the residence.
According to initial reports published by local media, the attackers repeatedly opened fire on the couple, leaving them with no chance to escape.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but both victims were pronounced dead inside the home due to the severity of their injuries.
The influencer shared content about her daily life and travels
Gabriela Sanarrusia was well known on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, where she had built a community of followers interested in her lifestyle content.
Her posts featured moments from her travels, personal activities, and experiences as the mother of a nine-year-old daughter, a role that was also an important part of her social media presence.

News of her death prompted an outpouring of condolences from followers who had supported her work.

Authorities investigate the possible motive behind the crime
According to the Costa Rican newspaper La Nación, the suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting and later set fire to a vehicle believed to be connected to the crime.
Investigators are now analyzing that evidence in an effort to identify those responsible and determine the route they took after fleeing the scene.
Early investigative leads suggest the double homicide may have been motivated by revenge, although authorities emphasized that this remains only a working hypothesis and has not been officially confirmed.
Investigators stated that the definitive motive can only be established once all investigative procedures have been completed and all evidence has been analyzed.

The case remains under investigation in Costa Rica
Personnel from Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Department responded to the residence to recover the bodies and secure the crime scene.
During the forensic examination, investigators also collected ballistic evidence and other materials that will be incorporated into the case file as they work to determine what happened.
So far, no arrests have been announced, and authorities have not disclosed the identities of the individuals suspected of carrying out the July 4 attack.
As the investigation into the murder of Gabriela Sanarrusia continues, authorities are working to determine who participated in the double homicide, what motivated the attack, and whether there is sufficient evidence to bring the case before the courts, according to La Nación.
