The White House announced that immigration agents have detained the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the man accused of carrying out a Molotov cocktail attack against a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, Colorado.

Authorities say the family will likely be deported “as early as tonight.”

The case has reignited the immigration debate in the U.S. at a time when the Trump administration is pushing a mass deportation agenda.

The fact that the suspect’s family was arrested also suggests an expansion of punitive measures toward the close circles of alleged perpetrators involved in hate crimes.

The White House shared images of Soliman and his arrest, with the caption: “Family arrested.”

The State Department has revoked visas for relatives of Soliman’s wife. All were transferred to a detention center in Texas.

Additionally, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated that authorities are investigating whether the family provided logistical support for the attack.

Mohamed Soliman, an Egyptian national, entered the U.S. on a tourist visa in August 2022 and requested asylum in September.

His visa expired in February 2023.

It is also worth noting that he resides with his family in Colorado Springs.

Soliman, charged with a hate crime and attempted murder, faces a possible life sentence.

The federal prosecutor stated that the attack had been planned for a year and that the suspect had expressed an intent to “kill them all.”

Twelve people were injured in the attack, two of whom remain hospitalized.

Police also found 16 additional Molotov cocktails in his possession.

The judge set bail at $10 million. Soliman is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday.

President Donald Trump blamed Joe Biden’s “ridiculous open borders policy” for the incident.

He confirmed that Soliman will be deported.

Since returning to office, Trump has vowed to ramp up the deportation of undocumented migrants.
