A video shared on social media added outrage to a context already marked by anger and distrust.

The footage shows a person at a hotel window in Maple Grove making an obscene gesture toward anti-ICE demonstrators.

The incident occurred as protests unfolded over the death of Alex Jeffrey Pretti during an immigration raid.

Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse and U.S. citizen, was fatally shot during a federal operation last Saturday.

The origin of the anti-ICE protests shaking Minneapolis

Following the incident, Minneapolis became the epicenter of protests demanding justice, explanations, and transparency from federal authorities.

Amid these demonstrations, a video recorded from the street in front of a hotel in Maple Grove began circulating online.

Federal agents deployed for immigration operations in the area were reportedly staying at the hotel.

In the footage, what appears to be an agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcement approaches a window, turns around, pulls down his pants, and presses his buttocks against the glass.

Below, a group of demonstrators watches while protesting against ICE and federal immigration policies.

The hotel video that ignited social media

For many protesters, the gesture was interpreted as a deliberate mockery of those demanding answers over Pretti’s death.

The act was seen as deeply disrespectful at a moment of grief, anger, and calls for accountability.

Demonstrators had braved extremely cold temperatures to keep their protests active in the streets.

The video intensified perceptions of unprofessional conduct by those tasked with enforcing the law.

So far, the identities of the individuals appearing in the video have not been confirmed.

Even so, the symbolic impact of the gesture amplified tensions between federal authorities and mobilized communities amid the anti-ICE protests in Minnesota.

A case fueling nationwide tension

The protests have not been limited to Minneapolis and have resonated in other U.S. cities.

Demonstrations challenge immigration policies and scrutinize ICE’s role in federal operations.

Discrepancies persist between official accounts and videos recorded by witnesses during the operation.

These differences have generated political and legal pressure to investigate the use of force.

The case continues to draw national attention to the actions of federal agencies in immigration enforcement.

For protesters, the hotel video reinforces the urgency of demanding accountability and structural change as the anti-ICE protests in Minnesota continue.
