U.S. President Donald Trump once again attacked the media, this time directly targeting ABC.
The reason was the return of comedian Jimmy Kimmel to his late-night show after a brief suspension.
According to Trump, the decision is not only a poor television move but could even represent an “illegal contribution” to the Democrats’ campaign.
The Republican used his social network, Truth Social, to remind followers that the network had already paid him $16 million in a previous defamation lawsuit.
“I think we’re going to put ABC to the test on this matter,” he wrote, anticipating a new legal confrontation.

Jimmy Kimmel’s Return
Jimmy Kimmel returned to the screen after being sidelined last week for his comments about Charlie Kirk.
In his comeback, he apologized for the incident and defended himself with a direct message to his critics. During his opening monologue, he took a jab at Trump:
“We cannot allow our government to control what we say and what we don’t say on television,” he said, reaffirming that humor and satire must have a space free of censorship.
Kimmel didn’t hold back, accusing the president of “not being able to take a joke.”
His reappearance was marked by a defiant tone toward Trump and toward those who question the role of entertainment in politics.
Trump’s Criticism
Trump reacted harshly to the host’s return. In his post, he stated:
“I can’t believe Fake News ABC gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. ABC told the White House that his show was canceled! Something happened between that moment and now, because his audience IS GONE, and his ‘talent’ never was.”
The president went further by questioning the network’s motives:
“Why would the network want back someone who does so poorly, who isn’t funny, and who endangers the network by playing Democratic TRASH?”
For Trump, Jimmy Kimmel’s return is not just entertainment but a political tool:
“Another arm of the Democratic National Committee,” he accused, adding that such decisions amount to “a major illegal contribution to the campaign.”
Escalation of the Conflict
The president closed his message with a warning:
“I think we’re going to put ABC to the test on this matter. Let’s see how it goes. Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad ratings,” he wrote in a tone of direct confrontation.
The clash between Trump and Kimmel reflects how entertainment and politics in the U.S. are increasingly intertwined, with late-night shows becoming platforms where satire and political criticism reach millions of viewers.
