The United States Border Patrol and the Brush Team carried out an anti-smuggling operation in Roma, located in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas.

Authorities reported that 14 undocumented immigrants were detained during the operation.

All of them were reportedly wearing colored bracelets.

Border Patrol arrests 14 immigrants in Texas

According to official information, the bracelets allegedly indicated that the migrants had made payments to a cartel in order to enter the United States.

Authorities did not specify the nationalities of those detained or the amount of money connected to the bracelets.

The operation took place in Roma, an area within the Rio Grande Valley, one of the regions with the highest levels of migration activity along the southern U.S. border.

One detainee was wanted for DUI

During the operation, authorities identified one immigrant who reportedly had an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence.

Officials did not release further details about the case or specify where the individual was wanted.

Border Patrol did not announce whether additional charges will be filed related to unlawful entry into the country or possible links to smuggling operations.

Operation Lone Star continues deployments along the border

Authorities emphasized that teams continue operating despite difficult weather conditions and challenging terrain.

According to the official statement, the operations are intended to maintain public safety, prevent escapes, and protect border communities.

The operation was directly linked to the broader efforts of Operation Lone Star.

Authorities reiterated that they will continue carrying out actions targeting smuggling operations and irregular border crossings throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
