Telemundo’s La Mesa Caliente. On Monday, March 7, Telemundo will premiere a new show that will liven up the afternoons for Hispanic viewers. It is the entertainment program called La Mesa Caliente where we will see four talented and empowered women on the TV network.
Hosts Myrka Dellanos, Giselle Blondet, Verónica Bastos and Alix Aspe will discuss the show’s topics as well as everything that happens in the Latino community every afternoon from Monday to Friday on Telemundo. The talented presenters spoke exclusively to Mundo Hispanico about this new challenge.
Telemundo presents its new program La Mesa Caliente

It should be remembered that Myrka Dellanos has received two Emmy awards in addition to being a renowned author, radio host, journalist, businesswoman and television presenter. She has risen to fame since she was on Primer Impacto. For her part, Giselle Blondet is recognized as one of the most iconic figures on Hispanic television.
These two talented women will be accompanied by Verónica Bastos who has hosted important news programs for several years. Another Emmy award winner, Alix Aspe will be on the show too. She started her career managing the social media for Noticias Telemundo and Al Rojo Vivo.
How do you manage to agree on a specific topic?

GB: “Well, we don’t agree, that’s why the table is going to be hot, because we are going to discuss things that happen every day. Obviously we will have different topics and each one with her point of view according to her life experience. And we’re going to talk about it. I think that for the first time they are going to hear us all talk about things that are so different from what we have always done. I think that’s going to be very interesting.»
MD: “Well, that’s exactly it, precisely because as a journalist, well, you are always trained to offer the details, to offer the information, to offer what is happening. But allowing the person at home, the reader or the person who is watching you to really form their own conclusion. That is the essence of journalism.”
What is the challenge of being on this program and with your colleagues?

MD: “Well, it’s a slightly different touch, because before we were going to have the news and things that are happening in our daily lives. They ask us and want us to also say our own opinion about it. For example, we see the drama of Ukraine. Well, obviously, it moves you as a mother.”
«For example, I see the grandmothers and I think of my mother. If she had had to send me away like that, the things that happen, the real dramas of real life, we will be talking about them and I think that will be the main challenge. I’m not used to doing it on TV, but I’ve been doing radio for many years.»
Alix, what is it like to work with a group of talented women that you surely admired when you started your career?

AA: “First of all, I’m blessed to be sitting here with these three women that I admire as much as you said, surely. And so it is. Yes, when they told me I had already heard about the program and I, as the good investigative journalist that I am, was saying Who would it be? me».
“So when they call me and tell me, I told them, are you sure? And I said yes, me. And the truth is that yes, I was in shock, but I think I’ve earned it too. As you rightly said since I came to Telemundo in 2014, I have been like this everywhere, on one side the blessing of being in the news on Al Rojo Vivo, on Hoy Día, at home with Telemundo on TV and now on this project that is a watershed in my career.” Filed Under: La Mesa Caliente Telemundo.
Giselle, you had difficult times with your daughter, but how are you going to be able to share those experiences?

GB: “I think that is what it is about, that we, according to our life experience, can share our opinion, the things we have learned, etc. In my case, well imagine, my family has always been the most important thing to me and what happened to my daughter, what a fortune.»
“That I have been a person who has this possibility of being able to talk to so many people and to be able to talk about what happened to her. It’s such a strange thing and so many people die because of it and have no idea what it is. So it gives me that opportunity and I really like that, I like it a lot.” Filed Under: La Mesa Caliente Telemundo.
Myrka, you are a perfect example of what it is to be a good friend. How important is friendship to you?

MD: “The essence of who you are as a human being comes first, beyond any awards you can win, the job you can get, the next opportunity in your career. And I am a faithful believer that God sees everything we do and also knows the intentions of our hearts. I felt sad for her because I thought if I had been in a program for 19 years and overnight they tell me you’re out of the program? I was crying for her (María Celeste).”
“So, how am I going to stay in a situation where I worked with her in the past, I felt that it was not the time for me to stay in such a simple program, I simply did what I felt my heart dictated at that time. And I thank God for what I did and I don’t look back and wish her all the best in the world.» Filed Under: La Mesa Caliente Telemundo.
Veronica, do you think that in some way the program will also help empower women?

VB: “Totally, I think it’s going to be very important that each one of those issues, this point that you’re touching on, is very important. Not all the hate that they are throwing at Belinda, all the hate that the fans of even Nodal himself are throwing at him for having finished the relationship. No one knows what happened there, even the two of them.»
“So I think all that kind of stuff is very important. Anuel has a new girlfriend, so they compare me with the previous girlfriend. So we’re going to bring that into our real life when, when we meet our ex’s current girlfriend. So we are going to go into all those issues that women are often the ones who hate each other the most.» Filed Under: La Mesa Caliente Telemundo.
