The vacancies will be focused in sectors such as services, manufacturing, and other productive areas.
This measure is part of the governmental strategy «Mexico Embraces You,» designed to support the reintegration of deported Mexicans through employment, social programs, relocation assistance, and a Paisano Bienestar Card, which includes financial support of 2,000 pesos (about 97.6 dollars).
The initiative seeks to mitigate the impact of a possible wave of mass deportations caused by Trump’s policies. This is reported by the EFE agency.
Given the high proportion of undocumented Mexicans in the United States, which represents about half of the 11 million people in that situation.
Economic Impact of Mexican Migrants
The issue concerns Mexico, as remittances sent by migrants constitute 4% of the national GDP and reached an estimated record of 65,000 million dollars in 2024.
Additionally, a study presented at the conference by the Latino Donor Collaborative (LDC), based in Los Angeles, indicated that the economy of Mexicans in the United States is worth 2.06 trillion dollars, equivalent to 10% of the U.S. GDP.
The job offering by the Mexican business leadership reflects a joint effort to face the challenges arising from Trump’s immigration policies.
“This collaboration is essential for our compatriots to find opportunities and a dignified place upon their return,” highlighted Sheinbaum.
While more details on the implementation of these measures are awaited, the announcement underscores the need to strengthen ties between the private sector and the government to address the challenges faced by deported Mexicans and to protect the economic stability of their families.
