Eight agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency have been accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Chicago during a detention operation.
The incident was captured on video, showing agents getting out of four vehicles and blocking the car in which the girl was seated.
In the footage, the teenager can be heard screaming “I’m 15 years old” as several agents drag her from the vehicle. One kneels on her neck while others pin her to the ground.

Witnesses stated that the group of officers acted without displaying visible identification or explaining the reason for their intervention.

The video quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage and calls from civil rights organizations denouncing the excessive use of force and the apparent illegality of the procedure.
Criticism and complaints from civil organizations
Several human rights associations described the operation as an “act of terror against civilians,” arguing there are no records indicating that the girl was involved in any immigration or judicial process.
Reports claim that the agents acted outside ICE’s established protocols and that their actions could amount to kidnapping and aggravated assault.
The video’s release triggered protests in Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods, where community leaders demanded an independent investigation and the immediate suspension of the officers involved.
The case has reignited debate over ICE’s operational methods — especially in urban areas home to Latino and immigrant families.
Operation Midway Blitz and official silence
The operation in which the incident occurred is part of “Operation Midway Blitz,” launched in September 2025 to execute arrest warrants for individuals with pending immigration records.
However, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has not released an official statement regarding the girl’s identity or the reasons for her detention.
It also remains unclear whether the teenager was taken to a detention center or what her current condition is.
Legal advocacy groups for immigrants have requested that the DHS Inspector General intervene and release internal reports on the use of force.
The lack of official responses has intensified pressure on the federal government as demands grow to review the actions of immigration agencies and ensure respect for human rights during their operations.
