Following Joe Biden’s surprise withdrawal from his re-election bid, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have issued a statement.
In the announcement posted on their social media, they expressed their support and appreciation for Biden.
They have also revealed who they trust to replace the Democrat.
Biden’s replacement would face a strengthened Donald Trump who surged in the polls after his assassination attempt.

In their statement, the Clintons praised Biden’s presidency, highlighting his crucial role in getting the United States out of a pandemic, creating millions of jobs, and strengthening democracy.
«By any measure, he has advanced our founders’ mission of building a more perfect union and his own goal of restoring the soul of our nation,» they said.
The Clintons also highlighted the threat posed by a second term for Donald Trump.
The above, mentioning his attempts to act as a dictator and his recent influence on the Supreme Court.
In this context, they stressed the importance of supporting Kamala Harris as the new Democratic candidate.
«Now is the time to get behind Kamala Harris and fight with everything we have to elect her. The future of America depends on it,» they concluded.
«I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and intend to win this nomination,» Harris said in a letter published an hour after Biden’s announcement.
The vice president stressed her commitment to uniting the Democratic Party and the country to defeat Trump.
