Mexico receives the kings of Sweden

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, welcomed King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.
From March 12th to 14th, they engaged in various activities in Mexico to reaffirm the good political and economic relations between both countries.
The kings arrived at the Palace in a vehicle, where they were awaited and exchanged a few words before listening to the anthems of several countries.
This marks the third state visit to Mexico by a Swedish monarch, following those in 1982 and 2002, as recalled by the Swedish Embassy in Mexico.
Did he wear the wrong costume?

Beatriz became a trending topic on social media in the past hours due to the outfit she wore during the state visit of the Swedish kings.
Many considered her purple dress to be inappropriate for receiving royalty, especially since it lacked a headpiece.
The dress chosen by the Mexican president’s wife for this occasion received harsh criticism from internet users.
They claimed it resembled a very popular character in Mexican culture from the series «El Chavo del 8».
What did Beatriz use?

To greet the monarchs, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller chose a knee-length purple dress, paired with a scarf, earrings, and black high-heeled shoes.
Her wardrobe choice, elegant and sophisticated, emphasized the symbolism of purple, associated with nobility and power, adding a distinctive touch to her image.
The scarf and accessories in black provided a harmonious contrast, enhancing the beauty of the ensemble.
This careful selection reflected the attention to detail and stylistic sense of the First Lady, which did not go unnoticed during the royal reception at the National Palace.
They compare her to series characters

Although the First Lady’s attire was characterized by its simplicity and classic style, it did not escape the critical gaze of social media users.
In the blink of an eye, humorous comparisons with iconic characters from the «El Chavo del Ocho» series, such as «La Bruja del 71» and «Doña Florinda,» began to emerge.
These comparisons, though playful, caused a stir online, with memes and comments spreading rapidly.
Despite the humor, the comparison was considered unfair, highlighting Gutiérrez Müller’s good taste and elegance.
They make strong comments

Immediately, social media erupted, and memes about Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller’s attire flooded in.
In response to these comparisons, the names «La Bruja del 71» and «Doña Florinda» quickly became trending topics in Mexico, at least on the X social media platform.
«Special guest appearance by Beatriz Gutiérrez, as La Bruja del 71. Directed by Enrique Segoviano,» one user quipped. «She’s La Bruja del 71,» another commented.
«Who’s the image designer for La Bruja del 71? Oops… I mean, for Beatriz Gutiérrez? Her worst enemy?» VIEW PHOTOS OF THE FIRST LADY HERE.
