President Donald Trump faces a new threat of impeachment in his second term.

The Democratic representative Al Green announced the beginning of a movement to remove Trump.

«The movement to challenge the president has begun,» Green said in Congress.

The legislator said he will present impeachment articles for «proposed vile acts and vile acts committed.»

Green accuses Trump of supporting the «ethnic cleaning» of Palestinians in Gaza.

The former president met Tuesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the White House.

Both discussed the war in Gaza after Hamas attack against Israel on October 7, 2023.

During the joint conference, Trump said the US could display troops in Gaza «if necessary.»

President Trump also proposed to convert the Gaza Strip to «the Riviera del Middle East.»

«Ethnic cleaning in Gaza is not a joke, especially when it comes from the US president,» said the congressman.

He also criticized Netanyahu and said that «Israel’s prime minister should be ashamed.»

«Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States,» Green emphasized.

Trump already faced two political judgments in his first term, but was acquitted both times.

The first Impeachment focused on an alleged attempt of electoral interference in 2020.

The second was for the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, accusing him of incitement to violence.

The Senate exonerated him in both cases.

Despite Green’s new threat, his proposal is unlikely to succeed.

With a republican majority in Congress, it is unlikely to prosper a new political trial.

Trump, on the other hand, reaffirmed his vision for Gaza at his conference with Netyahu.

«We will take care of Gaza and we will do a great job there,» said the former president.

He promised to dismantle bombs, level the terrain and rebuild the area as a tourist destination.

For Trump, American reconstruction would generate jobs and facilitate the recovery of Gaza.

When asked if that would imply a military intervention, he replied: «If necessary.»
