An Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, agent was recognized for saving the life of a 6-year-old boy who was drowning in a community pool in Florida.
The incident occurred in Pasco County, located on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Security cameras captured the moment the agent spotted the emergency, according to Fox News.
The footage shows Simmonds looking toward the child and reacting immediately.
Without stopping to think, he jumped into the pool fully clothed.
The agent quickly reached the boy and managed to bring him back to the edge of the pool.
Once out of the water, emergency care began.
Simmonds is an agent with ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Tampa.
Emergency Maneuvers Were Decisive
A 6-year-old boy was found floating unconscious in a Florida pool. Seconds later, an ICE officer jumped in to save him.

After pulling the child from the pool, Simmonds began cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The agent continued performing CPR until the boy regained consciousness.
According to ICE, law enforcement authorities said the child is expected to make a full recovery.

The quick intervention allowed the child to receive critical assistance in the first moments of the emergency.
Security footage recorded both the rescue and the agent’s immediate reaction.
According to authorities, the action happened within seconds.
The intervention was considered decisive for the child’s survival.
Authorities Highlight the ICE Agent Rescue
Acting Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Lauren Bis praised Simmonds’ actions.
“This agent acted quickly and provided life-saving medical care to this 6-year-old child who was drowning,” she said.
Bis also praised the work of ICE agents.
“Our agents are truly the best. They risk their lives to arrest the worst criminals. Instead of demonizing ICE law enforcement, politicians who defend sanctuary cities should thank them for removing criminals from their communities,” she declared.
For his part, Corporal J. Leathers of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office also recognized the agent’s actions.
