California Governor Gavin Newsom accused Donald Trump of politicizing the devastating fires in Los Angeles.

The accidents have left at least five dead, dozens injured and thousands of hectares destroyed.

Trump singled out Newsom for not signing a declaration that he said would have released millions of gallons of water into the state.

Newsom described Trump’s statements as «pure fiction» and assured that the president-elect uses the tragedy for political purposes.
