According to the Daily Mail, the child’s father was ill and had been classified as a vulnerable person who had to receive weekly visits from a social worker.

However, the tragedy worsens when we learn that the social worker tried to visit the house on January 2, but got no answer. When she returned on January 4, she also received no response.

She called police on both occasions but it was not until January 9 that, the social worker finally obtained a key from the landlord to enter the house and made the grim discovery.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 2-year-old’s mother revealed that autopsy results confirmed that her son died of starvation and dehydration after his father’s death.

According to the Daily Mail Kenneth’s death was established as a cardiac arrest that occurred no earlier than December 29.

The mother expressed her disbelief, stating: «I can’t believe it. I’ve had the results of the post mortem. Bronson starved to death because his dad died.»

«They think Kenneth died no earlier than December 29,» Bronson Battersby’s mother added.

«It means if the social worker had pushed to get in when she got no reply on January 2 then Bronson would still have been alive,» she lamented.
