How can I vote?

By Mail: South Dakota allows any registered voter to cast an absentee ballot. Request forms must be mailed to the County Auditor by 5 p.m. the day before Election Day. Completed ballots must reach the County Election Official by the close of polls on Election Day.

Early In-person: Registered voters can also vote in person at the County Auditor’s office from 46 days before Election Day until 5 p.m. on the day before.

Election Day: Voting sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you’re in line by closing time, you have the right to vote.
