How can I vote?

By Mail: Kentucky allows absentee voting by mail for various reasons, including being a student away from home, having a disability or illness, serving in the military, or residing outside the state temporarily. Residents can apply online through the State Board of Elections website or by contacting their county clerk’s office. The application deadline for mailed absentee ballots is 14 days before Election Day. Completed ballots must reach the county clerk by Election Day.

Early In-Person: Kentucky offers early in-person voting without an excuse during specific periods before Election Day. Contact your county clerk’s office for locations and hours.

Election Day: Polling sites are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you’re in line by closing time, you’re entitled to vote.
