A woman of Latino origin in the United States faced severe criticism after videos surfaced showing her allegedly calling immigration agents (ICE) to report street vendors competing with her food business.
The raid resulted in the detention of nearly 30 people, including her own daughter.
Witnesses claim the woman, upset about competition in a commercial corridor where she operated her stall, alerted immigration authorities.
“They have to leave; they come here causing trouble,” the woman said in a video while justifying her report.

The ICE intervention led to the detention of at least 28 people, who now face deportation proceedings.
However, the situation took a tragically ironic turn when, according to multiple accounts, her own daughter was among those detained.
In a moment of distress, she was seen frantically making phone calls after witnessing her daughter’s arrest.
Later, the woman publicly denied that her daughter was among those detained, claiming she lived in another state.
Nevertheless, social media users recalled that during the live broadcast of the ICE raid, she herself had reportedly confirmed the detention.
Wave of Criticism on Social Media
The incident triggered a wave of reactions on digital platforms.
“The enemy of Mexicans is other Mexicans,” and “It’s good it happened to her too,” were some of the comments circulating online.
Many pointed out the moral contradiction of calling ICE, knowing that her own community could be vulnerable to a raid.
The episode has fueled debate about internal divisions within immigrant communities and the consequences of cooperating with immigration authorities under the Trump administration, which has intensified detentions.
ICE Intensifies Operations
According to recent data from TRAC, 71.7% of immigrants detained as of June 15 had no criminal record.
With over 56,000 people detained so far this year, ICE continues an aggressive deportation campaign.
The majority of those detained have not committed serious crimes, casting doubt on the government’s official narrative.
