The video showing agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) breaking a car window and pointing guns at a family with a newborn baby has triggered outrage across the United States.
The incident occurred in Alamosa, Colorado, when officers tried to detain a couple who had just left a routine immigration check.
According to the mother, 21-year-old Maya England, she was sitting in the back seat next to her one-month-old baby when three unmarked trucks began following them.
Suddenly, the vehicles activated sirens and blocked the family’s car, according to CNN.
ICE Carries Out Violent Family Arrest
The agents stepped out of their vehicles, pointing their weapons directly at the car.
That’s when England began recording the encounter, which quickly went viral on social media.

“There’s a child! A baby!” the mother screamed desperately as one of the officers smashed the window with a baton.
In the video, another agent can be heard yelling, “Open the damn door!” while the driver, José Aguilera, tried to remain calm.

José Aguilera, a Mexican national, decided to step out of the car and surrender, fearing for his family’s safety.
The agents claimed they had an immigration warrant but refused to show it when England asked.
The young mother tried to follow the trucks to an ICE office, hoping to see the judicial document.
However, once there, no one answered her questions or confirmed Aguilera’s whereabouts.
By Tuesday night, his name no longer appeared in ICE’s detainee locator system, increasing the family’s distress.
The episode occurred despite a 2020 Colorado state law prohibiting ICE from arresting migrants who are going to or returning from court.
Human rights advocates described the video as “an alarming reflection of excessive use of force” during immigration operations.
Tim Macdonald, Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Colorado, called the footage “deeply disturbing.”
Legal Concerns and Human Rights Reactions
“It should concern every American,” he stated after reviewing the images that show the window being shattered just inches from the baby.
The mother, who was born in Fort Morgan, said she only wants answers — and to know where her partner is.
ICE has not yet commented on the incident or confirmed whether the agents involved are under internal investigation.
