The statement notes that he was pronounced dead at 10:16 p.m. after experiencing medical complications, and that the cause of death was under investigation at the time.

ICE detailed that earlier that day, Lunas Campos behaved in a “disruptive” manner while waiting for his medications and refused to return to his dormitory, leading to his transfer to solitary confinement.
