FBI Wants ‘Too Tall Bandit’ Accused of Robbing 16 Banks in Three States
FBI Agents They are looking for to a masked suspect nicknamed the ‘Too Tall Bandit’ who is being accused of robbing several banks in the United States.
USA Today reported late Thursday that the FBI is on the trail of an alleged serial bank robber dubbed the ‘Too Tall Bandit’, who wears a Halloween mask and allegedly robbed 16 banks in three US states since 2009.
Citing the FBI, the aforementioned newspaper indicated that the most recent assault by the ‘Bandit Too Tall’ was in Etowah, North Carolina, on November 27.
The suspect usually wears skull-patterned masks and has taken up to two years off between robberies, the FBI said.
According to USA Today, FBI officials describe the ‘Too Tall Bandit’ as a white male, in his 40s, possibly with brown eyes. It weighs between 210 and 250 pounds and stands up to six and a half feet (almost two meters) tall.
When robbing banks, the suspect wears a costume, with dark clothing, gloves, boots or shoes and a Halloween-style mask, authorities said.
But there is a specific characteristic by which the suspect could be recognized even more.
The FBI in Knoxville, Tennessee, wrote on Twitter this Thursday: “The ‘Too Tall Bandit’ is wanted for at least 16 bank robberies in the Carolinas and Tennessee. He is heavily disguised, but you may recognize how he walks. He has a limp that affects his right leg. He is considered armed and dangerous. Call 1-800-CALL-FBI if you have a tip. »
USA Today noted that the FBI has been pursuing the assailant for a long time.
The FBI office in Charlotte, the newspaper added, announced this week that the thief «has struck again» and that he may be 6.6 feet tall. And he also detailed that he speaks «with a deep voice.»
Media reports cited by USA Today have described the suspect as possibly even taller. The New York Post described him this week as a 6.8-foot (2.07-meter) man.
USA Today detailed that the ‘Too Tall Bandit’, with a gun in his right hand, has walked behind or jumped over the cashier’s counter during all of his Tennessee bank robberies.
The assailant told the bank employees to remove the cash from a vault and ATM drawers and put it in a backpack. Before escaping, he told them to throw themselves on the ground.
USA Today reported that the first alleged robbery was committed at a bank in White House, Tennessee, in 2009. And since then it has robbed 10 banks in Tennessee, five in North Carolina and one in South Carolina.
The FBI continues to work with state and local law enforcement authorities to find the ‘Bandit Too Tall’.
To get him arrested, federal authorities are offering a reward of up to $ 15,000 for anyone who gives information about the suspect.
