Stephen Miller, an advisor to Donald Trump, stated he expects Nicolás Maduro to accept deportation flights to Venezuela.
He specifically referred to members of the Tren de Aragua gang who are irregularly in the U.S.
The United States and Venezuela currently do not have diplomatic relations.
Deportation flights were suspended after an attempt to resume them in 2022 under Biden.

Miller insisted that Trump expects all countries to comply with the repatriation of their citizens.
He described this measure as a «basic international obligation» that nations must respect.
His statements come after a diplomatic crisis between the US and Colombia regarding deportation flights.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro refused to accept two planes carrying deported migrants.
Trump responded by imposing a 25% tariff on Colombian exports.
Petro ordered a reciprocal measure with a 25% tariff on U.S. imports.

After several hours of tension, both countries announced the resolution of the conflict.
The agreement included lifting restrictions when the first deportation flights from the US land in Bogotá.
