Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut, has announced a partnership with Nvidia to integrate artificial intelligence into order taking.
The technology will allow them to assess the performance of their franchises across five continents.
This marks the first time Nvidia has collaborated with a restaurant company.
The AI system will be implemented in 500 Yum Brands locations in the second half of the year.
Yum Brands Bets on AI to Optimize Costs at its Franchises
So far, the company has not specified which regions of the world will be affected.
Fast food chains have been testing AI to reduce labor costs.
They have also experimented with technology in self-service ordering, supply management, and employee organization.
McDonald’s attempted something similar with Google Cloud and IBM, but their collaboration with IBM ended abruptly.
Wendy’s partnered with Palantir to optimize data from their locations using a cloud system.
