Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris holds a slim one-point lead nationally over former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

This was revealed by a CBS News and YouGov survey published on Sunday, according to Efe.

According to the poll, Harris received 50% of the voters surveyed and Trump received 49%.

However, this advantage is within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 2.1 points.

A greater number of Democrats and African-American voters said in the poll that they would «definitely vote.»

But Harris will have to continue generating enthusiasm, particularly in key states, to maintain her lead.

The poll questioned about 3,102 registered voters across the United States between July 30 and August 2.

Following the publication of the poll, the Republican tycoon’s campaign said in a statement that the results of the survey were «manipulated,» although it did not provide any evidence.

CNN on Sunday published an average of four recent national polls.

Among others, this includes the CBS poll – which shows that Trump has 49% of voter support and Harris 47%.

Before President Joe Biden dropped out of the re-election race, he was trailing Trump by five points.

Biden dropped his bid for re-election on July 21 and passed the baton to Vice President Kamala Harris.

He thus gave in to pressure from several members and donors of his party who asked him to withdraw.

This follows his disastrous performance in the electoral debate with former Republican President Donald Trump on June 27.
