Donald Trump’s approval rating surged following his election victory, according to a poll conducted by Emerson College.

The survey shows that the 78-year-old Republican’s popularity increased from 48% before the election to 54% after defeating Kamala Harris.

Men are the strongest supporters of the former president, with 61% backing him, compared to 48% of women.

Among racial groups, 59% of white citizens approve of Trump, followed by 53% of Hispanics and just 28% of African Americans.

By age group, 55% of individuals under 30 have a favorable opinion of Trump, who will assume the presidency on January 20.

Support reaches 60% among citizens aged 40 to 50 but drops to 48% among those over 70.

Additionally, 46% of respondents admitted being surprised by Donald Trump’s victory over the current vice president.

Among voters who supported Kamala Harris, 67% expressed shock at the results of the November 5 election.

The poll also gauged preferences for the 2028 presidential race.

Among Democratic voters, 37% would support Kamala Harris as the party’s candidate, while 35% remain undecided.

On the Republican side, 30% of respondents favored Vice President-elect James David Vance as the party’s candidate.

The survey was conducted between November 20 and 22, with participation from 1,000 voters.
